Pastor Ramsey was born in Jackson, Tennessee, April 10, 1937. At the age of 9, the family moved to Green Cove Springs, FL. He attended Clay County schools along with his future wife. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corp where he served for 5 years. After receiving an honorable discharge, he began working for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P). In 1958, he married his present wife, Gloria Ann Horton, and continued to work for A&P. In 1960, he entered the United States Army, and served in Korea for 2 years as a Military Police Officer until his discharge. Upon returning to civilian life, he returned to work for A&P where he was promoted to manager.
In August of 1968, he was called to be the Pastor of Mill Creek Baptist Church in St. Augustine, Florida.
He attended Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, Florida, for two years, and finished up at Freedom University where he received a Bachelor, Masters, and Doctors Degree in Christian Education. In 2002, he received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from LandMark University in Haines City, Florida.
His goal, which is very simple, is to hear the words “well done thou good and faithful servant,” fall from the lips of his Precious Lord at the Bema Seat of Christ.
